can work boots with a logger heel be resoled with a normal heel? i've got a pair of thorogood workboots with a lugged vibram sole and a logger heel that was great when i was working on metal ladders a lot, but now that i spend most of my time on the ground, i don't care for such a high heel. would a shoe shop be able to resole them and put a normal heel on, or are the shoes rockered for a high heel and would never feel right without one? edit: please don't tell me to buy new ones - high quality steel-toed work boots are very expensive, and they can be resoled at 25% of the cost. i am specifically trying to avoid buying new boots since these still have plenty of life left in them.

Do You Have an Individual Fashion "Signature", Meaning Unusual Items For Which You Are Known? I definitely have my own style, and while I have, over the years, adopted different items which are unusual in the extreme, the one constant is my shoes. I have scads of them, and they are nearly always unusual. Even if they are something that other people own, I wear them in unusual ways. For example, I am known for wearing heavy men's boots, like logger's boots or Doc Martens with dresses and skirts. I also have have an extensive collection of black and white shoes which includes things like men's dress wingtips and genuine saddle shoes. The thing people notice most often about my clothing is my shoes, and the fact that I don't always select the logical choice to go with an outfit. Tell me about your personal fashion "signature" item or items. Thanks.
Water-resistant leather boots? I need some boots for the rainy weather / winter... I like the lace-up style but water can just come in through the front, right? Or are there designs that prevent that? (With shoelaces) I like this style, but I don't think these are waterproof: http://www.shoebuy.com/carolina-8-plain-toe-logger-821-briar-leather/157661/364036 Any suggestions please? cant start computer after deleting registry files? I misread instructions on how to delete certain registry files to get rid of a key logger infection. I accidentally started deleting files that I was unaware I needed, and now I cant boot up my computer. What should I do?
Would this be a key-logger or just a hacker? My friend has a computer that he does a lot of business on, but it is also his play-on computer. He gets on facebook, etc. Well, the other day his computer died, wouldn't boot up at all, just lock up right after the Bios. We assumed his hard drive had corrupted. Well, he was in need of a new computer anyway so we didn't bother fixing it since he does frequent backups. Anyway...on Sunday, while the computer was still broken, his email sent out a bunch of spam mail to all of his contacts all linking to a fake Canadian pharmacy. So...I'm trying to figure this out. Is it a coincidence that his computer broke and then his email sent out all those? And that his email was just hacked the same weekend? Or do you think he got a key-logger that affected his computer start up and stuff? His computer shut off while he was using it. And...what is the potential that the key-logger spread to other computers on his network? Well...really the question I was asking was this. His email that he uses is a hotmail account. The person that sent the emails were actually in his account because the emails are in his sent folder. So...I'm trying to figure out whether he had a key-logger that recorded his passwords and sent them to the creator of the program or whether his account just got hacked. And if he did have a key-logger, is there a potential that it would have spread to the other computers on his network? I know that key-loggers aren't supposed to do anything besides just record key-strokes, but really...the book definitions of programs are stupid. If I were to make a key-logger, I'd have it infect every computer on a network and then shut them all down once I got the passwords so the person wouldn't even know I had his passwords. Which...seems like what happened. We did change the password on the email account by the way.
Is the key-logger gone now? I accidentally downloaded a key-logger the other day and all anti-virus programs couldn't find it so I decided to completely wipe my hard drive and reinstall windows. The only bad thing is I didn't really know how to do it so I kind of made it up as I went (usually works with computers for me). So I booted with the XP install disc in there and deleted the current partition, created a new partition and installed windows... does that mean I wiped the hard drive? Is it safe to enter in important passwords again?
Would You Hire This Norwegian Logger? A Norwegian decides to travel across Canada to see the pacific ocean. When he gets to Nanaimo, he likes the place so much that he decides to stay. But first he must find a Job. He walks into the MacMillian-Bloedel office and fills out an application as an experienced logger. It's his lucky day. They just happen to be looking for someone. But first, the foreman takes him for a ride into the forest in the company pickup truck to see how much he knows. The foreman stops the truck on the side of the road and points at a tree. "See that tree over there? I want you to tell me what species it is and how many board feet of lumber it contains." The Norwegian promptly answers, "Dats dere's a Sitka Spruce, eh? And she got 383 board feet of lumber in 'er." The foreman is impressed! He puts the truck in motion and stops about a mile down the road. He points at another tree through the passenger window and asks the same question. This time, it's a bigger tree of a different class. "Lord tunderin'! Dat's yer Douglas Fir and she got 690 board feet." says the Norwegian. Now the foreman is really impressed. The Norwegian has answered quickly and got the answers right without using a calculator. One more test. They drive a little further down the road, and the foreman stops again. This time, he points across the road through his driver side window and says, "And what about that one?" Before the foreman finishes pointing, the Norwegian says, a Yeller Cedar, 242 board feet at most." The foreman spins the truck around and heads back to the office a little ticked off because he thinks the Norwegian is smarter than he. As they near the office, the foreman stops the truck and asks the Norwegian to step outside. He hands him a piece of chalk and tells him, "See that tree over there? I want you to mark an X on the front of that tree." The foreman thinks to himself, "Idiot! How would he know which is the front of the tree?" When the Norwegian reaches the tree, he goes around it in a circle while looking at the ground. He then reaches up and places a white X on the trunk. He walks back to the foreman and hands him the chalk. "Dat's da front a' dat tree fer sure." The Norwegian states. The foreman laughs to himself and asks sarcastically, "How in the Hell do you know that's the front of the tree?" The Norwegian looks down at his feet while rubbing the toe of his left boot cleaning it in the gravel and replies, "Cuz somebody took a crap behind it, eh?"

Need Help with writing a poem? ok..so i have to write a poem using this paragraph, by changing the orders of the sentences and words to make it a poem..but i am lost, i have no idea what to write please help me: If it is awake early enough the boy sees the men walk past the farmhouse down First Lake Road. Then he stands at the bedroom window and watches: he can see two or three lanterns between the soft maple and the walnut tree. He hears their boots on gravel. Thirty loggers, wrapped up dark, carrying axes and small packages of food which hang from their belts. The boy walks downstairs and moves to a window in the kitchen where he can look down the driveway. They move from the right to left. Already they seem exhausted, before the energy of the sun.
Need Help with breaking lines in a poem? For example, I have to make a poem by making breaks in the lines to emphasize the emotional effect of certain images or actions. By using this: If he is awake early enough the boy sees the men walk past the farmhouse down First Lake Road. They move from right to left. Already they seem exhausted, before the energy of the sun.
A funny tavern. Can you top this? 30 miles away, we have this tavern frequented by loggers. They wear the clothes one might expect of a lumberjack including the heavy boots. A good number also sport beards. Over it all they will wear these frilly pink dresses. Some will also wear ridiculous looking bonnets. Why? Well it seems it developed from the Monte Python song about girlie loggers sung by guys dressed as Canadian Mounties. Google a search you may find it if never seen. It's very funny. Well it developed into this thing that anyone laughing at them or smiling too widely is given a hard punch to the stomach. Especially anyone that happens to be out of dress. Ah, strange entertainment in a logging and lumber mill town of 20,000.
"Reno" Virus Being Stubborn? My bandwidth dramatically increased recently, from 10mb/s download and 1mb/s upload to 200kb/s download and 150kb/s upload. I scanned countless times with avast, norton, and i cant remember the name of the other one. The third one, which i cant name, managed to finally find a virus. It was Reno AE or AU or something, my memory seems to be dyslexic. I deleted it and upgraded my computers RAM sticks to reward myself. Now, after the virus giving me 3 hours of heavenly gaming, it decided to drain my bandwidth some more. Right when i was going to download a new game. Avast, Being n00by as always, didn't detect anything and im not willing to do an 8+ hour scan again just to have it come back and kick me in the ass. I honestly don't want to find the good old boot 'n' nuke and mess with that. Does anyone know a foolproof way to kick this viruses ass? This isn't the classic Reno virus, as i have only seen one false "Virus Scanner" pop up, and that was around the time i started having bandwidth issues. Mainly, the problem is that i cant do anything. Is anyone familiar with this strain of the virus? OH and it managed to behind my back download another virus, my memory seems to fail me again, but it was a logger of some sort. Its clearly hiding like hell because the following couldn't get it: 1 Avast Quick Scan 3 Avast Full Scans 1 Norton Full Scan. I had to boot it off the unnameable virus scanner, which found it and seems to have failed to detect the virus. Thank you so much for all your help. I can't wait to fix it so i can go shoot 'n' stab some stuff. The unnamable virus scanner failed to delete it, it detected it fine. Amazed i didn't catch that earlier. Also, i only used multiple virus scanners to find it, i'm not paranoid to run 3 at all times... Plus, the lagg would be killer.
Font capture..Malware? I am totally baffled by something that my IE is doing. From time to time,my browser window wont close without me having to do it by force.Sometimes when I re-boot,there will be a latent program that has to shut down as well. It's called Font Capture.I have tried to search my HD for it automatically and manually and I can't find it.This leads me to believe that it must be a key logger of some sort.I'd like to know if thats what it is and how do I find it.It has eluded me for some time and not only am I humbled that my tech knowlege isnt enough but that I have to even ask.I'd apprceiate any info. And yes all of my detection software is up to date and running.By the way,I just asked this question, but it was under my gf screen name. She didnt signe herself out from my pc..sorry Id rather not have to wipe out my drive either.I dont have an extra arm and leg to pay for another XP disc. There has to be another way to find and extract it if thats what it is.
HELP!!!!!!!!!! Computer is shutting off randomly even when in safe mode...? We'll lately everytime i turn on my computer it starts up as usual but 80% of the time it stops at a blue screen where it has the HP symbol and says [F10] Setup, [ESC] Boot menu, and [F11] System restore. It freezes there a lot and i have to restart it. 20% of the time it starts up fine.. just fine. But i get into doing something for 5 minuets and screen goes black.. then turns blue, a bunch of code pops up then it shuts down and immediately restarts itself. I put it in safe mode, it still shuts down. it says my computer was attacked by an unknown problem. I scan with norton and 2 other anti viruses and it detects things and i delete them but the problem still exists The trojan or wtvr it is knows when i get close to deleting it, or destroying it, or finding out what it's source is. Bcuz everytime i open a certain folder or i start a scan.. that's when my computer shuts off.. It's like somebody is activating the virus to shut down my computer when i get close to the problem... When i'm lucky and get close to doing a system restore it shuts down, when i'm talking to my friends and they are about to give me a solution to the problem it shuts down.. But i have a feeling that a result to this unknown source making me restart my computer and shutting it down wi'll eventually corrupt my data... I had a key logger about 2 months ago and had my computer totally whipped.. but i heard that doing that won't stop a keylogger... But nobody has hacked my emails yet... so i'm guessing the keylogger is gone... IF anybody has any solutions or ideas or knows what the problem is please share... I just bought a 34" screen and a Gefore 8400 video card.. i don't want those to be a waste So help is appreciated please and thank you How do i check my RAM? And why would it be a over heating problem?

How do i go about getting into an admin account on vista? Hi I'll just briefly explain the story, I have been having trouble getting onto my own desktop because a member in my family has made his account admin and taken away my admin rights. Also he has put time restrictions onto my account without permission. what i need help with is finding a way to get onto the admins account and sorting all of this out i have asked him in person to sort it out but he sort of thinks he owns this computer which is NOT true so don't bother asking why i am doing this. OK so I'm thinking of taking the computer away from him until i have sorted it out but i really don't trust any one with it and i really couldn't be bothered, And i thought about installing a key logger but i admit i don't know enough about them to fell safe installing one on my computer, also to make it worse the computer doesn't give me or any other account on the computer the option to open anything downloaded on the computer which is concerning and is another motive to sort this out quickly in case this is being caused by viruses. Possible Malware? I am totally baffled by something that my IE is doing. From time to time,my browser window wont close without me having to do it by force.Sometimes when I re-boot,there will be a latent program that has to shut down as well. It's called Font Capture.I have tried to search my HD for it automatically and manually and I can't find it.This leads me to believe that it must be a key logger of some sort.I'd like to know if thats what it is and how do I find it.It has eluded me for some time and not only am I humbled that my tech knowlege isnt enough but that I have to even ask.I'd apprceiate any info. And yes all of my detection software is up to date and running.
Why will my pc ONLY boot up fully in Safe Mode? I recently became infected with the nasty ISpyNow virus/key-logger and I'm in the lengthy process of dealing with that. But, in general, most of the applications on my PC have been behaving somewhat normally (except search functions dealing with virus removal, an inability to fully install certain anti-virus/malware related software re & an inability to use System restore) -- until now. Suddenly I NOW find I can't completely reboot unless I'm in Safe Mode and can no longer access/activate the Task Manager by inputting Alt+Control+Delete. When I try to reboot in normal mode I get as far as my desktop icons fully loading but then everything just freezes up solid, with the cursor being an unchanging hourglass if I move it down to the Start button, etc. And at that point I have no choice but to turn off my PC the only way I can -- by using the power (off) button, and then rebooting in Safe Mode (from where I'm currently typing this question!)... I have Windows XP if that matters. Please help!!!
