Lumberjack

What was your favorite thing to do when you were 8 years old? I loved making paper dolls out of the pages of an old Sears catalog, and making up stories of the people and how they interacted. Always chose the men who wore lumberjack shirts and jeans and used power tools, and young women pushing strollers with two or three kids in them. Also had lots of pets in this imaginary world. Also liked playing different occupations, like secretary or principal or store owner or veterinarian with groups of other kids. When our neighborhood played school, I was always the superintendent or something. My other favorite things were playing in the woods and fields by the river where I grew up. Picking loads of wildflowers, and singing the lyrics to "The Sound of Music". Amazingly, I had all the latest toys a kid could have, we were quite well off, but these are the things that I remember most fondly. Stuff that cost nothing, and was more creative, interacting with other kids or just "Imaginationland". HOw about you?

Has anyone seen this coffee table from the Febreze Flameless Luminary print ad? http://i1040.photobucket.com/albums/b406/scheherazade_stories/CoffeTable.jpg It's the one the luminary is sitting on made up of all those logs, but I can't for the life of me find it. I saw it in an autumn edition of Better Homes and Gardens. Looks easy enough to make with the proper tools however I am not a lumberjack. Anyone have any suggestions?

Christmas gift for boyfriend's dad? My boyfriend's dad is a Lumberjack. He has every tool known to man, I swear. I have no idea what-so-ever to get him. I was thinking a nice watch but I can't find one that is less than $40 and looks nice. A little help? Anything really, help me get creative please? Thanks everyone. :)

So I've got this really funky beard; anyone have a suggestion? Recently, I've begun to grow out my beard for the sheer hell of it. The hair on my head is straight and jet black; almost asian, If I may act on that generalization. While on the other hand, my beard has been growing, well, bright red and curly; my family has been calling me a Lumberjack! I have straight black hair and a curly red beard. It's so bizzare! I've been limited to how long I can grow my beard so far because it begins to clash with my hair. Big curls of red hair sticking straight out of my face looks rather strange when paired with my jet black hair. So, what kind of hair/beard style would you recommend for such a strange arrangement? I cant give you a photo because I dont have the tools, but I have a stocky build and a rounded head. While I certainly wouldn't mind kicking it like ZZ Top or moving into the woods to chop tress, wear plaid, and eat pancakes, I would prefer to keep things sane for now. So what would you recommend for a samurai/lumberjack hybrid?

The two tramps, though qualified to split the wood, do not share the same passion as the narrator. This is further looked at the in the final 2 stanzas. In the 4th stanza, what do you think he means by "Winter was only playing possum"? do possums have some sort of metaphorical or symbolical meaning or to them? Don't you mean: "He seems to state that when you have a man who works for need up against a man who works for love, the man WHO WORKS FOR LOVE trumps the other."?

Any idea how I can cut 1 foot or so off of the back side of my entertainment center? It's a custom made piece with an opening for TV, shelves above and below and cabinet doors. I can pry the back off, make outside cuts, and cuts to platforms of big openings, BUT I have no idea how to cut the shelves for the smaller openings. Basically, I'll be left with three shelves holding me back. I hope I have explained myself well enough. Any tool comes to mind? One of those Rambo cable saw things? A lumberjack saw? Again I would be able to make all outside cuts and some interior cuts, just a few shelves where space is limited and this thing is deep, like about 36". a hand saw would work if it were +/-6 feet long. shelves or compartments are too small and deep to get a sawzall, jig saw, small circular or anything like this, only thing that comes to mind is make all exterior cuts and whatever else i can reach, then get one of these hand cable saws and run it thru the groove. it would take a while.

Do you know of any good tennis blogs? Hey so I normally just follow Craig Hickman's Tennis Blog, but the guy is a such a tool and every snide little comment he makes ticks me off, so I need a new blog to follow. We all know how the U.S. doesn't give a s*** about tennis, so I basically never get to watch it outside of the grand slams and the U.S. Open Series because I don't have the Tennis Channel and ESPN is gay. Seriously they don't even give us ESPN2. You know what today's lineup was? Drag racing, professional bowling, and lumberjack competition. Honestly if anyone outside of the state of Kentucky sat down and watched a lumberjack competition on ESPN2, I would be shocked... So since I can't watch tennis a lot I like to at least be able to follow the scores. Did they go back up to the mountains away from civilization like before they debuted? They must have been living like real mountain men, away from people and alone in the mountains, damn that's no way to live. Being in the WWF for that brief time was their only time to flash and show their stuff and be in social places, enjoy their prize money with technology around them, and now their time is over and they're back living in those smokey mountains in their log cabins with their old beat down cars, pine trees, campfires, and living like lumberjacks with no TV or other 20th century technology expect for their old beat down cars and tools, huh? But if they were normal people in real life, I must admit they sure put on a hell of an authentic act to make you think they were real mountain men when they really weren't, I will say that.

WWE Smackdown vs Raw 2010 Wishlist? As you know the features for WWE Smackdown vs Raw 2010 were announced this week but for those of you that are unaware the features include: New Create A Wrestler Mode, Create A Logo, Create A Storyline, Customize Attires For In-Game Superstars, Upload And Download Created Superstars And Storylines, New Road To WrestleMania Stories, And More To Be Announced. For years people have created wishlist that are filled with absolutely ridiculous things such as include every wrestler on the planet, have a TNA Impact Arena, have all title belts in the world, and much more. But I'm here to add REASONABLE features to Smackdown vs Raw 2010 or and future Development. Tell me what you think: 1. Roster Updates: Like EA Sports Games or 2K Sports Games there are weekly roster updates to include the players on their respected teams. How about THQ makes a weekly if not monthly roster update to include the WWE's Top Priority Superstars. We were promised DLC in 09 but all we received were Evan Bourne, Super Crazy, Ted Dibiase, Charlie Haas, and an Unnecessary DLC package of Legends. Not even a Christian, Jack Swagger, Maryse, etc. It might be alot to ask but it is something to think about. 2. Voice Recognition Create A Superstar: How many times have we created a Chris Jericho and have him be introduced as Christopher? THQ should have some sort of Voice Recogntion Tool where the game could at least try and pronounce the names of your Created Superstar. There is no reason the game can't pronounce a name like Christian. 3. Match Types: THQ has done well in including MOST of the WWE's Match Types into the games but they have left out quite a few. These Matches include: Lumberjack Match, Stretcher Match, Casket Match, Ambulance Match, Championship Scramble Match, I-Quit Match, More than 2 Backstage Brawls, Bra and Panties Match, etc. (Correct me if im missing something.) But some matches need to be edited such as Making the Hell in a Cell bigger, Making the Table Matches more realistic, and for god sakes make the TLC match a Ladder Match with Tables, Ladders, and Chairs. And also THQ, I think were ready for 8 superstars in the ring at the same time. 4. Bring Back, Keep, and Rid of Features: Some Features from previous games should be brought back such as the General Manager Mode, Create a PPV Mode, Create A Championship Mode, Challenge Mode, and Fight in the Crowd. Certain Features should be kept from 09 such as Create A Finisher, Roster Editor, Create an Entrance, and Create a Moveset. But Certain Features should be removed such as the sucky Career Mode that forced us to fight over and over again for titles. 5. Online: This is a pretty big part of the Smackdown vs Raw enviornment. Online. I don't know what THQ was thinking last year with online play. They removed Trade Superstars whih I LOVED, and worst of all they removed the designated rooms for each rank. I was a half a star being forced to face 5 star guys. They should have the rank rooms such as 0 to 1 stars, 2 to 3 stars, 4 to 5 stars, and all. Also sometimes I'd want to do a lower card match such as Morrison vs Miz but I'd pick Morrison and my opponent would pick Undertaker. How bout rooms designed for Superstars Overalls? 89-99 one room, 79-88 another, Divas Room, and Create A Superstar Room. That'd be cool. But when it comes down to match types, can we please have a 30 Man Online Royal Rumble? Picture It. Everyone gets a Number and waits to come out, when there eliminated then they have the option to quit or watch the rest, and the winner recieves a huge boost in ranking points.
