fooling a key logger?

If I used the O.S.K (on screen keyboard) when entering passwords etc..Would this fool a keylogger programme that was installed on my computer ?

  1. Not sure about that, but if you go to a news article or something with a lot of words (so you have each letter) then copy and paste the letters the key logger can't pick that up.
  2. A Key Logger doesn't just record what you type through a piece of hardware. (despite it's name) It will most likely keep track of Sites you visit, ect. The best thing you can do is the typical Virus Scan/FireWall/Spyware Scan. routine. EDIT- Do not listen to what the person above said, it depends on what type of KL it is.
  3. I'd uninstall the key logger from the computer. Call up msconfig and see what tasks are running on your machine. Google these tasks to figure out if any is spyware or keyboard logger. Also consider installing Spybot and/or AdAware - both are free. And if I were you I'd get some anti-virus software on my machine. If nothing else, if you have sensitive data that you absolutely must enter on your computer such as banking infornation, boot up in safe mode with networking. This will prevent all the other tasks, including the logger from starting up.
  4. no they also take screenshots of everything you do. so there is nothing you can do that they don't know about. there is no code you can type in to get around it either.
  5. Some of them. Most keyloggers program for the most common form of input - your actual keyboard. It's easiest to do, because it covers the largest portion of users. While it's certainly possible to run into a keylogger that reads from OSKs (I haven't personally seen one), there's a good chance that you'll fool most of the "basic" keyloggers by using the OSK.
